Japan Cable and Telecommunications Association, also known as JCTA, is a privately owned entity headquartered in Japan. Established in 1980, the association aims to promote the development and popularization of cable television in Japan. Its purpose is to foster ethical practices through cooperation among cable television enterprises, address common industry problems, and contribute to public welfare. The JCTA's business includes facilitating communication among its members, conducting research on the cable industry, liaising with relevant organizations, promoting cable services, and providing education and training for industry professionals. The association has approximately 490 members, comprising 405 ordinary members (organizations approved under the Cable Television Broadcast Law) and 85 supporting members.
