Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, also known as MIC, is a State Owned entity headquartered in Japan. Founded in 2001, it operates with approximately 230 employees. The ministry is focused on telecoms and, functioning as a cabinet-level ministry in the Government of Japan, oversees the Japanese administrative system, manages local governments, elections, telecommunication, post, and governmental statistics. Its English name was Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications (MPHPT) prior to 2004.
