Kansallisteatteri, publicly owned and headquartered in Finland, was established in 1872 and operates with approximately 70 employees. The company functions as the Finnish National Theatre, also known as Suomen Kansallisteatteri, situated in central Helsinki on the northern side of the Helsinki Central Railway Station Square. It holds the distinction of being the oldest Finnish speaking professional theatre in Finland, having been known as the Finnish Theatre until its renaming in 1902.
