On June 25, 2026, the founder of SeeDevice, a U.S. tech company, stated that false reporting by Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) and its U.S. affiliate KBS America cost him years of research and a major commercial opportunity, seeking up to $1.23 billion in damages. This follows SeeDevice's filing of a defamation lawsuit against KBS and KBS America on June 14, 2026, accusing them of inaccurate reporting on its technology that allegedly cost the company a major commercial opportunity and wasted years of research. Earlier, on June 9, 2026, SeeDevice announced its defamation lawsuit against the broadcasters would proceed to trial in a U.S. federal court. Previously, on November 17, 2025, SeeDevice Inc. and its CEO Dr. Hoon Kim announced a series of legal victories in their ongoing U.S. defamation and trade libel lawsuit against KBS and KBS America.
