Kia, a publicly owned company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, and a part of the Hyundai Motor Group, was founded in 1944. With approximately 2,690 employees, the company functions as a South Korean multinational automobile manufacturer. It is recognized as South Korea's second largest automobile manufacturer, following its parent company, Hyundai Motor Company, having reported sales of over 2.8 million vehicles in 2019. Hyundai holds a 33.88% stake in Kia, valued at over US$6 billion, while Kia, in turn, is a minority owner of more than twenty Hyundai subsidiaries, with stakes ranging from 4.9% to 45.37%, totaling over US$8.3 billion.
