KRWG-TV expanded its free over-the-air service to the El Paso area, making PBS programming, local news, and educational content available on Channel 22 for viewers after rescanning their televisions, KRWG Public Media announced on July 24, 2026. Previously, on September 7, 2025, KRWG Public Media's engineering team restored the KRXG-FM signal in Silver City using a backup transmitter following an outage on the main transmitter. This followed the appointment of KC Counts as KRWG Public Media's new Director of Content on September 3, 2025. Counts brings over 30 years of broadcasting experience to the role, having served as FM operations manager for almost six years prior to her promotion.
