Formula 1 secured its position as the world's second-biggest sports league by sponsorship revenue for 2025, generating $2.54 billion collectively across its ten teams, a 22.1% increase from the previous year that significantly narrowed the gap to the NFL, according to SponsorUnited data released on April 30, 2026. On the same day, MotoGP's regulatory cycle concluded, setting the stage for the introduction of 850cc bikes next year as the championship prioritizes attracting new audiences, an objective for Liberty Media since its acquisition of the series for over $4 billion. Earlier, on April 29, Formula 1 underscored its investment in the U.S. market through the Miami Grand Prix's agreement to host races until 2041. This followed former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner's attendance at the Spanish MotoGP event in Jerez on April 27, where he was an invited guest of F1 president Stefano Domenicali and Liberty Media. Horner, present as a guest of both MotoGP and Liberty Media, commented on April 26 that it was "a really interesting time" for MotoGP, now under Liberty Media's commercial control.
