Liberty University, also known as LU or Liberty, is a non-profit organization headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia. Founded in 1971, it operates as a private evangelical Christian university.
Liberty University is scheduled to host the annual Remedy East 2026 conference for medical professionals and students on March 6-7, in partnership with the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, focusing on patient service. This follows the university's basketball team (14-11, 8-6 CUSA) preparing on February 19 for its final road contest of the 2025-26 season against FIU (16-9, 9-5 CUSA). On February 18, during Convocation, Pastor and bestselling author Levi Lusko urged students to prioritize studying and memorizing Scripture. Earlier that month, on February 17, Liberty University purchased its first ALSIM simulator, an ALX model, configured with all available flight models from a single-engine piston to a medium jet resembling an Airbus 320, and equipped with advanced features including a complex overhead, dual FMS, and a new visual system. This acquisition occurred after 14 Liberty students returned on January 19 from a biodiversity trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, which took place from January 10.
