Liberty University, also known as LU or Liberty, is a non-profit organization headquartered in Lynchburg, Virginia. Founded in 1971, it operates as a private evangelical Christian university.
On August 21, 2026, Liberty University announced several upcoming events, including its LUCOM Donor Memorial Ceremony, an annual event recognizing deceased individuals who served as teachers for first-year osteopathic medical students. The university also highlighted its New Student Convocation, described as North America’s largest weekly gathering of Christian students, which annually hosts over 80 nationally-known speakers from various fields. Other scheduled activities include "Doughnuts with the Deans," providing students an opportunity to meet their academic deans, alongside "PRAY5:8 - Mornings," a student gathering focused on studying the Word, and a Liberty Softball Camp.
