In 2024, Linksys' revenue was below $500 million. It is a subsidiary of Fortinet.
Cybersecurity researchers reported a significant increase in malicious scanning activity from compromised networking equipment, particularly Cisco Linksys and Araknis router models, on an unspecified date. The Shadowserver Foundation observed unusual scanning patterns suggesting widespread compromise of these devices. Separately, researchers identified a surge in malicious HTTP scanning activity beginning July 30th, 2025, originating from approximately 2200 compromised small business routers from multiple vendors, including Cisco Small Business RV series, Linksys LRT series, and Araknis Networks AN-300-RT-4L2W devices. This campaign indicated a coordinated botnet operation exploiting known vulnerabilities.
