News Summary:

On June 25, 2026, the team's 2025 NHL draft second-round pick, Vojtěch Čihař, 19, has multiple playing options for the upcoming 2026-27 season, following his 2025-26 season playing in Czechia and the WHL. Previously, on June 24, the Kings signed forward Francesco Pinelli, 23, to a one-year two-way contract worth an average annual value of $850,000 through the 2026-27 season. Pinelli recently completed his third season with the Ontario Reign, the team’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, where he recorded a professional-best 35 points in 65 games. On June 23, the Kings reportedly plan to pursue an extension with defenseman Drew Doughty once free agency begins, after he has served as the face of their blue line for more than a decade. Earlier that day, Richard Seeley, who spent the past eight seasons as General Manager of the Los Angeles Kings’ minor league team, the Ontario Reign, became the new GM for the Abbotsford Canucks. This followed the team bringing in Hall of Fame defenseman Phil Housley as an assistant coach on June 19, joining the recently hired Peter Laviolette’s coaching staff.
