Malaysian Digital Association, a privately owned entity headquartered in Indonesia, was founded in 2009. The association functions as a unifying body and watchdog for the digital advertising and marketing industry in Malaysia, having been established by online publishers and digital service providers to create standardized and efficient operational practices within the country's digital landscape. Its core activities include developing common standards for gathering and viewing statistics, disseminating information, sharing resources, evaluating and recommending industry best practices, and educating marketers, agencies, media companies, and the wider business community on digital advertising. The association is dedicated to fostering the growth of Malaysia's digital advertising expenditure and delivering a single standard currency for measuring Malaysian internet traffic. Registered as a society under Malaysian law, it unifies various sectors involved in digital media and advertising, representing and securing the long-term interests of the industry. The MDA is managed by an elected Council comprising a President and 12 Council Members, with equal representation for media/publishers and services/specialists.
