McLaren Group is a privately owned company headquartered in the UK. Founded in 1985, it employs approximately 2,990 individuals and specializes in motor vehicle manufacturing. The high-technology brand encompasses McLaren Racing, McLaren Automotive, and McLaren Applied.
On July 9, 2026, McLaren Racing expanded its technical partnership with Motul, deepening a relationship of over a decade across both Formula 1 and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Previously, on July 7, McLaren Racing confirmed a significant roster change for its IndyCar program, signing six-time series champion Scott Dixon and reigning Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist to multi-year agreements for the 2027 season. This move, described as one of the boldest statements of intent in recent IndyCar memory, forms a three-car full-season lineup alongside Pato O’Ward, with 2014 Indy 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay returning for a fourth entry at the 111th Running of the Indianapolis 500 in May 2027. Also on July 7, the organization extended its multi-year partnership with wireless technology and communications firm Cisco, which will remain an official partner for both its Formula 1 and Electric Racing teams, providing software for networking, wireless systems, and hybrid-work tools.
