On May 1, 2026, the Met Office issued a transparency notice for its Regional Environmental Prediction Initiative, stating that its UK Climate Information (UKCI) will deliver updated climate projections and data, replacing the existing UKCP18 products. Previously, on April 30, 2026, the agency published a tender notice seeking modems and SIM cards for its network of approximately 300 automatic weather stations operating across the UK and overseas. Also on April 30, the Met Office released details of a contract for the purchase of iPhone 17e devices, which will replace older equipment used by its Civil Contingencies Advisor team. Earlier on April 30, the Met Office issued a transparency notice related to turbulence data, in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023.
