Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones, also known as MTC, is a State Owned entity headquartered in Peru. Established in 1974, the ministry operates with approximately 1,990 employees. It functions as the executive government ministry responsible for the public administration, regulation, and infrastructure development of the transportation and telecommunications sectors in Peru. Headquartered in the city of Lima, the state body designs and implements national policies to expand physical and digital connectivity across the country's coastal, Andean, and Amazonian regions. Its mandate covers the management of national road systems, port facilities, and airport rehabilitation, alongside the administration of digital services, radio frequencies, and telecommunications licenses. Through its specialized administrative divisions, the ministry regulates public transit frameworks, manages national driver registries, issues broadcasting permissions, and establishes ethical codes for open-signal television and radio transmissions.
