Ministry of Information (Myanmar), also known as MOI, is a state-owned entity headquartered in Myanmar. Founded in 1947, the ministry functions as the primary government body in Myanmar responsible for public communication, media regulation, and the dissemination of state information under its motto "To inform, to educate, and to entertain." It oversees its media operations through four key departments: Myanma Radio and Television (MRTV), which serves as the state broadcaster; the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD), which manages community centers and public libraries; the News and Periodicals Enterprise (NPE), which publishes state-owned newspapers like the Global New Light of Myanmar; and the Printing and Publishing Department (PPD). The ministry also acts as the central authority for monitoring private media, issuing broadcasting licenses, and communicating the policies and security updates of the state administration to the domestic and international public.
