Miraj Entertainment, a privately owned company headquartered in India, founded in 2008, employs approximately 560 individuals. The company primarily operates as an entertainment provider, specifically as India's 3rd largest cinema chain, boasting 195 screens across 61 cinemas, spread across 43 cities in 16 states throughout India.
Miraj Cinemas opened a new four-screen multiplex at ATS Khyber Range Ghaziabad on August 21, located near Manipal Hospital Pandav Nagar on NH-24, aiming to provide a destination with movies, dining, and leisure. This development coincides with a broader industry trend where cinema chains are increasingly looking to food and beverages (F&B) to drive revenue and profitability, moving beyond traditional movie ticket economics due to affordability constraints and more selective consumer viewing, as discussed on August 15. Earlier in August, the multiplex industry experienced a comeback with a steady stream of film releases breathing life back into theatres after months of uncertainty, reminding advertisers of cinema's unique place in the media mix, noted on August 12. Previously, on August 7, Miraj Cinemas revealed plans to deepen its presence in southern markets, particularly Telangana and Karnataka, as part of a 300-screen expansion strategy, buoyed by the continued strength of Telugu cinema and growth in Tier-II and Tier-III markets. In July, Miraj Entertainment Ltd. elevated Sameer Munshi to Chief Operating Officer (COO) on July 24, recognizing his leadership and contributions to the company’s operational growth.
