On September 21, 2025, a team from Monash University Malaysia won the 4th edition of the Universities for Goal 13 competition, a global challenge organized by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) in partnership with Siemens Energy. Researchers at Monash University developed a new carbon-based material enabling supercapacitors to store more energy; this research was published in Nature Communications. A new, fully funded PhD scholarship at Monash University’s Accident Research Centre (MUARC), supported by NTI and delivered through the National Truck Accident Research Centre (NTARC), will fund research into the long-term health and wellbeing of Australian truck drivers.
