Morningstar moves to pay-for-play model

Morningstar will offer issuer-initiated ratings in Australia starting June 2026, under which fund managers and financial product issuers will pay a fee to the research house for a rating. Morningstar said this is consistent with the prevailing market practices for ratings in Australia and the model will be applicable to Australia and New Zealand.
