Amid continued reporting around private credit exposures to the Bathla Group, research and ratings house, Morningstar, has developed new analysis of the Australian private credit market urging retail investors to “pay attention”. The Morningstar analysis notes that Australia’s regulatory settings around retail access to private credit have been looser than those in other jurisdictions whilst also noting that disclosed portfolio credit ratings aren’t always sourced from external agencies with managers using their own internal ratings.
