Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium is a 501(c)(3) non-profit research organization founded in 1955 and headquartered in the United States. Employing approximately 360 people, it operates primarily in Sarasota, Florida, with additional facilities in eastern Sarasota County and the Florida Keys. The organization conducts marine research focusing on various areas, including the impact of toxins on humans and the environment, sustainable fisheries management, ocean technology development, and the population dynamics and conservation of species such as manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, and coral reefs. Mote also operates a public aquarium.
