Mumbai International Airport, also known as CSMIA, is a publicly owned entity headquartered in India. Founded in 1942, it functions as the international airport serving Mumbai, the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra, and is one of two airports serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. With approximately 1,900 employees, the airport is recognized as the second-busiest in India for total and international passenger traffic, the 14th-busiest in Asia, and the 31st-busiest globally by passenger traffic as of 2024.
