National Antarctic Scientific Center of Ukraine, a State Owned institution based in Ukraine, was founded in 1993 and has an estimated 10 employees. It operates as a State Institution of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, responsible for organizing annual expeditions to the Ukrainian Antarctic Akademik Vernadsky station, providing for the station's operations, and coordinating Ukraine's research activities in Antarctica.
