The New Jersey Devils are a professional ice hockey team based in Newark, New Jersey. They are members of the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team was founded in 1982 as the Kansas City Scouts before relocating to New Jersey in 1982 and adopting their current name. The Devils have won three Stanley Cup championships, in 1995, 2000, and 2003. The team is privately owned by Josh Harris and David Blitzer through the Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment ownership group. The Devils play their home games at the Prudential Center in Newark.
