This announcement followed BeXide's revelation on April 25 that the 3D puzzle game *Touhou Yukkuri Mountain*, featuring Touhou Project characters, is in development for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, with a planned release this summer. Preceding these developments, Square Enix explained on April 25 that *Final Fantasy XIV's* confirmation for the Nintendo Switch 2 indicates a significant shift in its approach to player accessibility and hardware synergy, ending the "tethered MMO" era.
