With a team of approximately 190 employees, the company provides marine IT and VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) services to the superyacht, cruise, and research vessel industry. OmniAccess is recognized as a highly specialized marine IT and VSAT service provider, offering tailored solutions to meet the unique communication and connectivity requirements of vessels operating in remote and challenging environments.
OmniAccess and the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) have been collaborating since October 2017 to modernize communications. OmniAccess set up VSAT communications across four Antarctic research stations and provided connectivity for two research vessels. The company also provided installation, 24/7 support, maintenance, and hardware upgrades. In other news, OmniAccess has expanded its office space to accommodate its growing team of over 160 employees. The new third floor features a 1950s diner theme, a Lost Lounge, Persian rugs, a foosball table, and a 9-meter-long wall art. Additionally, OmniAccess will be showcasing its connectivity solutions at Oceanology International 2022, where Fugro will demonstrate its 12-meter Blue Essence uncrewed surface vessel (USV) with an electric onboard remotely operated vehicle (eROV).
