It was launched as a public initiative to provide citizens with free access to Chilean cinema, documentaries, and short films. OndaMedia offers an extensive catalog of films and independent productions that are difficult to find on commercial streaming services. The platform operates under a "cultural democratic" model, allowing users registered in Chile to stream titles for free each month.
