Ouachita Baptist University (OBU), a privately owned institution founded in 1886, is located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Named for the nearby Ouachita River, it is affiliated with the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, which in turn is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The university employs approximately 510 people.
