The mount addresses the lenses' previous development exclusively for modern mirrorless camera systems, a design choice driven by their short flange focal distance, and allows cinematographers to combine the lenses' distinctive cinematic image characteristics with ARRI's digital cinema cameras. Leitz originally entered the mirrorless lens market with the HEKTOR lenses in September 2025.
