Penn State Network Television, also known as PSNtv, is a privately owned entity based in the US. Founded in 1965, the organization operates with approximately 60 employees. WPSU received a $200,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) on January 26, 2026. This funding will support the development and distribution of “Spirits of Sovereignty: The Whiskey Rebellion and the Shaping of a Nation,” a 30-minute documentary focusing on the Whiskey Rebellion. This follows the Penn State board of trustees' unanimous approval on December 30, 2025, of a revised proposal to sell WPSU's operating assets to WHYY, a public media organization in Philadelphia. The station's survival came after an earlier proposal to sell to WHYY was rejected, drawing significant public backlash, and amidst community support during the transition.
