Perfect World Pictures

Perfect World Pictures, also known as PWPIC, is a privately owned entertainment content rights company headquartered in China. Founded in 2008 and operating with approximately 10 employees, the company functions as a vertically integrated mass media film studio and television entertainment corporation, serving as the core filmed entertainment sector of Perfect World Co., Ltd., a public Chinese cultural and technology conglomerate traded on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. It produces broadcast television, accounting for over 10 percent of all prime-time series in the country. To support international expansion, the company executed a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar slate co-financing treaty in 2016 with Universal Pictures, marking the first time a Chinese entertainment company directly financed a multi-year package with a major American studio. The studio holds an intellectual property repository comprising more than 300 cinematic and episodic works, including domestic features such as Sophie’s Revenge, Love is Not Blind, and Shadow, alongside Hollywood co-financed films such as Jason Bourne, The Mummy, Darkest Hour, Phantom Thread, BlacKkKlansman, First Man, and the Jurassic World franchise.
