Pioneer Football League (PFL)

Pioneer Football League (PFL)

Pioneer Football League, also known as PFL, is a non-profit organization headquartered in St. Louis, US, established in 1991. It functions as an intercollegiate athletic conference for the sport of football, with its members competing in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The member schools of the league span a wide geographical area, ranging from New York, North Carolina, and Florida in the east to California in the west. The league's headquarters are located within a complex that also houses the offices of the Missouri Valley Conference and Missouri Valley Football Conference. A distinct characteristic of the Pioneer Football League, differentiating it from most other Division I FCS conferences, is that its constituent institutions opt not to award athletic scholarships, or grants-in-aid, to football players.
