Consumer Reports released findings on October 26th, regarding voice cloning products from six companies, including PlayHT. The study, also reported on October 25th and 26th, revealed that several products lack adequate safeguards against fraud and abuse. A majority of the products assessed, according to a report released on an unspecified date, did not include meaningful safeguards to prevent misuse. Four out of the six companies evaluated failed to provide such safeguards, according to research from Consumer Reports. The reports highlight potential risks associated with AI voice technology.
