Polaroid, a privately owned company headquartered in the Netherlands, was founded in 1937 and employs approximately 600 individuals. The company specializes in photography, functioning as a developer of instant films designed for classic Polaroid cameras.
On February 18, 2026, the Polaroid Now Gen 3 camera, priced under $120, was noted for the approximately $2 per photo cost incurred for its i-Type film. Previously, on February 10, Thai retailer CARNIVAL unveiled an exclusive collaboration with Polaroid, launching the CARNIVAL® x Polaroid Go Instant Camera Generation 2, a special edition featuring CARNIVAL's aesthetic codes. Earlier that same day, Polaroid was highlighted as a company successfully applying "retro-innovation" by updating past products for today’s consumers, responding to demands for durability and authenticity. This follows the February 3 introduction of the Polaroid Now Generation 3 Instant Camera, an analog instant camera featuring a self-timer, double exposure modes, an improved automatic focus system with two lenses, and constructed from 40% recycled materials. On February 3, Polaroid also projected its 2025 net profit attributable to shareholders to be between ¥145 million and ¥152 million, representing an anticipated year-on-year growth of 27.17% to 33.30%.
