ProGrade Digital, a privately owned company based in the US, was founded in 2017 with an estimated 20 employees. The company provides digital memory cards, card readers, and workflow software specifically designed for professionals who create using DSLR, mirrorless, camcorder, and digital cinema cameras.
On April 20, 2026, memory card manufacturers, including ProGrade Digital, launched special promotions for the NAB Show 2026, aiming to mitigate memory price inflation driven by AI companies' demand for data. This followed ProGrade Digital's April 17 announcement of two new CFexpress and SD readers, enabling simultaneous data transfer from both slots at speeds up to 40Gbps to enhance data transfer performance for CFexpress and SDXC UHS-II memory card users. Earlier, on April 16, the company stated that memory card prices are climbing due to a global flash memory shortage linked to AI demand, a situation it said worsened in recent months with no clear relief expected in 2026. On April 14, ProGrade Digital's Co-Founder revealed a second price increase for its memory cards within three months, attributing it to continuously rising flash memory costs with no signs of stabilizing in 2026. Also on April 14, the company's 400GB CFexpress Type B Iridium memory cards stored iconic Earth images during the Artemis II mission, which successfully completed its journey around the Moon, and the same card is now available for purchase by photographers.
