Radio Nacional del Perú

Radio Nacional del Peru, also known as National Radio of Peru or Nacional, is a state-owned public radio broadcaster headquartered in Peru. Operating under the Instituto Nacional de Radio y Television del Peru as a tier 1 media tech buyer, the company was founded on January 30, 1937, by President Oscar R. Benavides, making it the country's first and oldest radio station. With an estimated 20 employees, it specializes in broadcast television and radio. The broadcaster is operated by the Instituto Nacional de Radio y Televisión del Perú (IRTP), an executive agency of the Peruvian Ministry of Culture. It provides a diverse range of informative, cultural, and educational programming, maintaining a national footprint through its extensive network of AM and FM transmitters. Functioning as the official voice of the Peruvian state, the station disseminates government news, promotes national identity, and offers decentralized coverage reaching remote and rural areas of the Andean and Amazonian regions.
