Real Salt Lake, also known as RSL, a privately owned entity headquartered in the US, was founded in 2004 and employs approximately 360 individuals. Its main product offerings include sports tickets, merchandise, and sponsorships. The company operates as an American professional soccer club based in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, competing in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Western Conference. The club began play in 2005 as an expansion team, and plays its home games at America First Field, a soccer-specific stadium located in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy, Utah, sharing the venue with its sister team, Utah Royals FC.
