Rhode Island College (RIC) is a state-owned public college founded in 1854 in Rhode Island, USA. Originally established as the Rhode Island State Normal School, it is the second-oldest institution of higher education in the state. Located primarily in Providence, with portions extending into North Providence, its 180-acre campus serves approximately 9,000 students, comprising 7,518 undergraduates and 1,482 graduate students. The college employs 1,610 individuals and participates in the NCAA, fielding 17 Division III athletic teams.
