It operates as a significant joint venture between the Cambodian Ministry of National Defence and the Thai media conglomerate Kantana Group, through its local subsidiary, Mica Media Co., Ltd. The company is unique for its hybrid governance structure, where the Ministry of Defence oversees news content and political guidelines, while the Kantana Group manages entertainment, advertising, and technical production. TV5 Cambodia is noted for being a pioneer in digital broadcasting within the country and remains an important player in the national media landscape, particularly among rural and traditional audiences.
