Rugby India

Rugby India, a state-owned entity headquartered in India, was founded in 1998. The organization, which operates as the Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU), employs approximately 60 individuals. It functions as the sole governing body for the sport of Rugby-Football in India. Incorporated under the Indian Companies Act, the IRFU is recognized by the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs, Govt. of India, and holds full membership in the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU), and the International Rugby Board (IRB). Its responsibilities include the growth and development of Rugby across the nation, and it is governed by a close-knit group.
