Safran Aero Boosters is set to open a new subsidiary, Safran Booster Components, in Welkenraedt, Wallonia, Belgium, a strategic move announced on March 28 by CEO François Lepot. This facility aims to strengthen Safran's global supply chain and support rising demand for aircraft engines, contributing to the reindustrialisation of the Wallonia region as part of Safran's long-term industrial expansion. Earlier, on March 26, Safran Aircraft Engines revealed it is scaling up its hybridisation demonstration efforts, planning to run a Silvercrest business jet engine this summer incorporating 250kW electric motors on both its low- and high-pressure spools. Delphine Dijoud, deputy vice-president engineering and R&T, presented this development at Clean Aviation’s annual forum on March 18, describing hybridisation as a complementary lever to increase engine efficiency alongside open-fan architecture. Also on March 26, Safran strengthened its executive committee with two new members, announcing a leadership team restructuring that elevates the role of strategy within the company and names a new head for its Cabin division. This move signals a deeper integration of long-term programs and a transition in the company’s American operations.
