Sahar Universal Network, also known as SUN, is a state-owned company headquartered in Iran. A subsidiary of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, it was founded in 1997 and employs approximately 10 individuals. Functioning as a tier 1 media tech buyer primarily engaged in broadcast television and radio, the company serves as the international broadcasting arm of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). Launched in December 1997, SUN operates as a public-service broadcaster dedicated to projecting Iranian cultural, political, and religious perspectives globally. The network, which is Iran's first and most established television network for non-Iranian audiences, offers a diverse mix of programming, including news, documentaries, feature films, TV dramas, and children's content, all translated or produced in the native languages of its target regions.
