Screenworks Asia, a privately owned entertainment production corporation headquartered in the Neihu District of Taipei, Taiwan, with Catchplay as a parent company, was established in July 2020 as a joint venture between CATCHPLAY Inc., an independent movie distributor and over-the-top (OTT) digital streaming operator, and the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA), a national agency under Taiwan's Ministry of Culture. Operating with approximately 10 employees, the company focuses on entertainment content rights. The enterprise functions as a manufacturing engine for Mandarin-language original content, developing, financing, and producing intellectual properties designed for cross-border appeal. Its content covers genres such as romantic comedies, suspense-crime thrillers, psychological dramas, and factual entertainment. Under the general management of Shaoyi Chen, the studio's globally syndicated intellectual property repository includes titles such as the family comedy The Making of an Ordinary Woman II, the psychological thriller feature Lost in Perfection, the Golden Bell Award-winning anthology series Twisted Strings (executive produced by Hou Hsiao-hsien), and the unscripted talk-format Dee's Talk.
