Since June 2024, the organization has been owned by the private equity firm the Carlyle Group and Major League Soccer club Seattle Sounders FC. Founded in 2012 as one of eight inaugural members of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the company operates with approximately 130 employees. It primarily offers sports tickets, merchandise, and sponsorship related to its competition in the NWSL. The team has reached the NWSL Championship three times, in 2014, 2015, and 2023.
