On June 25, SGN continued its celebration of International Women in Engineering Day, featuring Property and Estates Manager Jodie Carroll as part of an initiative to encourage more women and girls into engineering careers. This followed a Green Gas Taskforce report released on June 24, which suggested Scotland could produce enough biomethane to meet approximately half its current gas demand by 2050, envisioning renewable gas as a key element of the country’s energy transition. Also on June 24, SGN announced phased disruption on Shooters Hill and its surrounding area throughout the summer, as the company conducts gas network upgrades to replace aging gas mains with safer, more durable materials. Earlier, on June 23, SGN marked International Women in Engineering Day by highlighting the experiences of female engineers, including Regional Manager Amy Curley and Project Manager Johana Durán Santos, who shared their career journeys and efforts to promote engineering to women and girls.
