Shanghai Film Group, a privately owned mass media and entertainment conglomerate headquartered in China, was founded in 2001. It employs approximately 70 individuals, specializes in content rights, and reported $34.7M in revenue as of 2024. The company unifies historical Chinese cinema assets into an industrial powerhouse, with primary operational divisions including the Shanghai Film Studio (established in 1949), the Shanghai Animation Film Studio, the Shanghai Documentary Film Studio, and the Shanghai Film Dubbing Studio. As the second-largest film exhibitor in the country, the corporation operates the Shanghai United Circuit, which consistently ranks among China's domestic box office returns.
