The company specializes in semiconductor manufacturing, functioning as a fabless semiconductor designer focused on developing energy-efficient microprocessors for GPU and AI applications.
On September 24, Bull began installing SiPearl's first Rhea1 processor units into JUPITER, Europe's inaugural exascale supercomputer. This integration signifies the first deployment of a European-designed server processor within a European supercomputer system. Earlier on the same day, SiPearl announced it had delivered the first Rhea1 processor samples to Bull on September 22. This delivery constitutes SiPearl's initial order for Rhea1 processors and its first significant revenue. The Rhea1 is slated to power the CPU cluster of the Jupiter supercomputer, located at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) Forschungszentrum Jülich campus in Germany. SiPearl, a fabless firm supported by the European Union and France, completed this delivery for integration, transitioning the European-designed processor from validation into system deployment.
