Softpix, a privately owned Finnish company founded in 2019, develops and provides SPX, a free and open-source software application for live video production across news, sports, entertainment, and events. As of 2023, the company employs approximately 10 people and reported revenues of less than $1 million.
Softpix integrated its graphics controller with NRCS Octopus 12, making its capabilities available within newsroom workflows. Softpix and Media Tailor collaborated to help media organizations adopt the latest HTML graphics, focusing on a modular approach for easy integration. Softpix secured investment and a strategic partnership with Media Tailor to expand HTML-based graphics in the broadcast industry. Softpix participated in the Evolution of the Control Room project, which was named Accelerator Project of the Year at IBC 2024 in February. The project involved several other companies and focused on the OGraf HTML graphics standard.
