On September 22, 2026, Macnica and Softron Media Services launched the "M|8IP," a turnkey hardware and software bundle for high-performance SMPTE ST 2110 production, which combines Macnica’s 100GbE MEP100 SmartNIC with eight licenses of Softron MovieRecorder 5. This followed their initial announcement on September 17, 2026, where they introduced the solution designed to create a faster path to uncompressed ProRes and live immersive workflows over IP by pairing Macnica's high-capacity SmartNIC with Softron's macOS-native ingest software. Previously, at IBC 2026, Softron showcased the first Live Immersive Instant Replay solution utilizing ProRes over SMPTE2110-22. The company also highlighted updates to MovieRecorder 5, including SMPTE 2110 support, integrated router control, browser-based remote operation, and live SRT transcription created locally during recording. Earlier, on April 14, 2026, Softron Media Services unveiled new product updates and offered a sneak peek of MovieRecorder 5 at NAB Show 2026.
