Southern Media Corporation, also known as SMC, is a Privately Owned company headquartered in China. Established in 2004, it reported $642.3M in revenue as of 2023. The corporation functions as the first provincial-level all-media conglomerate in China, formed through the merger of Guangdong Television (GDTV), Southern Television (TVS), and Radio Guangdong. It serves as the primary operational and industrial platform for Guangdong Radio and Television (GRT), managing the province's broadcasting resources, including terrestrial and satellite channels, radio frequencies, and the regional cable network. Beyond traditional broadcasting, SMC operates the publicly listed Guangdong South New Media (SNM), which manages IPTV and OTT services nationwide.
