On June 30, 2026, Southworks' CTO Johnny Halife discussed the company's "Development on Demand" software engineering model, which integrates human judgment with state-of-the-art AI to build and deliver software. This follows developers presenting plans for The Gateway, the initial residential site plan for the SouthWorks project, to the City of Ithaca Planning and Development Board on June 5. The 95-acre SouthWorks project aims to redevelop the former Emerson Power Transmission site into a mixed-use community in Ithaca, featuring four neighborhoods: The Gateway, The Hills, The Woods, and The Chainway.
