Special Communications Organization

Special Communications Organization, also known as SCO, is a State Owned entity headquartered in Pakistan. Founded in 1976, it employs approximately 30 individuals and reported $3.7M in revenue as of 2023. The organization serves as the primary telecommunications provider for the remote and strategically sensitive regions of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), operating under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication. SCO manages a comprehensive infrastructure that includes the SCOM 4G mobile network, the SFiber fiber-optic network, and the SPaisa mobile financial service, which bridge the digital divide in high-altitude and rugged terrains. It functions as a backbone for regional development, offering integrated digital solutions such as SCO Cloud, broadband internet (SNet), and fixed-line telephony, while also fulfilling a social mandate to support economic growth and emergency communications in Pakistan's northernmost territories.
